Visualization tools for large-scale Genomic Data
Researchers are generating large scale genomic data everyday but there is lag in generation and visualization + analysis of such huge data. To overcome this difference, variety of open source softwares are available to view data and the key point is easy implementation.Apart from interactive and user friendly view,they enable users to analyze different types of genomic data.
GMOD (Generic Model Organism Database) available at http://gmod.org/wiki/Main_Page provides collection of freely available visualization softwares - GBrowse (Genome annotation viewer), visualize large scale comparative genomics data through GBrowse_syn and CMap.
Circos is another such example designed for visualizing genomic data such as alignments, conservation, and generalized 2D data, such as line, scatter, heatmap and histogram plots.
